Saturday Morning Moves is the name of creative and colourful movement sessions for little ones at Derby Theatre.
Starting on October 12, at 10.30am, under fives and a parent/carer can visit the theatre and take part.
Saturday Morning Moves will provide under fives with the chance to explore moving and dancing with exciting props and great music.
The sessions will be led by Oksana Tyminska, who has over 20 years’ experience of running creative movement classes, dancing with children, parents and teachers.
Oksana has also co-led training initiatives for Sure Starts, councils, the National Dance Teachers Association, as well as a great number of early years’ settings.
Caroline Barth, Derby Theatre’s head of learning, said: “We are very much looking forward to providing these sessions for young children and their families and welcoming them to Derby Theatre.
“We hope they will whet their appetite for the arts and performance and encourage them to visit the theatre more, as the future generation of theatregoers and participants.
“Saturday Morning Moves also perfectly complements our upcoming family shows, Emil And The Detectives, The Boggle and Three Billy Goats Gruff and Other Furry Tales, which are part of the national Family Arts Festival taking place during October half term in many arts venues across the UK.”
The sessions are fun, colourful and will help children to develop their body awareness, selfconfidence and social skills. Future sessions are on November 9 and December 14. Tickets are £5.50 for children (with one accompanying adult free). Both tickets need to be booked. To book, call 01332 59 39 39.
