The fantastic family-friendly Festé returns for a ninth spectacular year to the streets of Derby city centre this September.
A multitude of exciting outdoor performance areas act as the perfect platform to play host to Derby Festé 2015, the ever-popular post-summer annual extravaganza of city-wide live performances and breath-taking acts.
Derby Festé 2015 will take place throughout this year on Friday, September 25, and Saturday, September 26, and will be produced and presented by Déda, Derby LIVE, Derby Theatre and QUAD in association with the Without Walls Associate Touring Network.
Since this annual cultural highlight started in 2007, Derby Festé has established itself as one of the best UK streetarts festivals and has attracted some of the highest quality acts, from across the UK and abroad, to the city’s streets.
Organisers are thrilled to announce the headline act, the UK premiere of stunning drum and firework show, Danbor Talka: The Clash of The Drums, a Deabru Beltzak and Les Commandos Percu creation.
The heart-stopping culmination to this not-to-be-missed show will see a wild parade through the crowds by blazing musicians who will climb onto the stage for a clash of drums.
They will light a huge fire that seems to burst from their instruments, as if every percussion note sparks an explosion in the starry sky.
Stephen Munn, director of Déda and artistic lead for Derby Festé said: “It’s amazing to me that Derby Festé has been animating the streets of Derby since 2007.
“As usual, audiences this year can expect a weekend of unforgettable experiences for all the family across Derby city centre.”
Tickets are £7 in advance, £10 on the door, and they are available to purchase on 01332 255800.
