Glimpses of the Peak District is the title of Hazel Money’s exhibition, running through March at Derby Cathedral Centre.
Hazel studied Fine Art at Aberystwyth University. In 2011 she opened her own studio at Eyam Hall Craft Centre, where she produces a series of local views.
“The landscape is a constant inspiration for my work. Working to a small scale, I use this restriction to help me distill the essence of a scene.”
Working mainly in acrylics, she works from life wherever possible “capturing the atmosphere and conveying a sense of transience particular to a place rather than an accurate description of its detail”.
Her exhibition is in the Sir Richard Morris Lounge and continues until March 31, Monday to Saturday 9am-5pm.
