Matlock Bath’s iconic Grand Pavilion launches its first ever full season of live music and events with a kick-off Showtime! evening on Saturday, April 12.
The Grand Pavilion was rescued by the community of Matlock Bath and is operated as a charity; all events raise funds for repairing, maintaining, preserving and restoring the building.
“There are almost 40 events planned,” said head of events Andie Brazewell, “from tribute rock bands to soulful folk, plus art exhibitions as well as our popular craft, mind-body-spirit and steampunk markets. What started with just two events in 2011 has really expanded.”
The Showtime! evening (free for Friends and £5 for the general public) has a programme of popular music by Wirksworth Community Choir and Wirksworth Area Community Orchestra. With everything from James Bond to Harry Potter and Carmen to The Pirates of the Caribbean, the evening is sure to be a great kick-off to the 2014 season.
To reserve tickets for any event, email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone the box office on 01629 583834.
Chairman Gregor Macgregor added: “We are very much looking forward to showing the community what has changed in the building and telling them about all the events coming up – we will also be launching our 28-page programme of every event so far booked for this year.”
“We have an amazing season ahead of us – all started off by our Showtime! evening.”
