The Kite Runner is returning to the stage at Nottingham Playhouse later this year.

Back by popular demand, the play, based on Khaled Hosseini and adapted for the stage by Matthew Spangler, can be seen from August 29-September 6.

Ahead of a national tour, local audiencs get another chance to see The Kite Runner, based on the hugely successful international best-selling novel.

This haunting tale of friendship spans cultures and continents and follows one man’s journey to confront his past and find redemption.

Afghanistan is a country divided, on the verge of war.

Childhood friends Amir and Hassan are about to be torn apart.

It’s a beautiful afternoon in Kabul and the skies are full of the excitement and joy of a kite-flying tournament.

But neither of the boys can foresee what will happen to Hassan that afternoon, an event that will shatter their lives forever.

Directed by Giles Croft, this is a Nottingham Playhouse Theatre Company and Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse production.

The play is for those aged 14 and over.

Ticket details are available by calling the box office at Nottingham Playhouse on 0115 9419419 or you can go online to www.nottinghamplayhouse.co.uk
