The Tony Farrell Big Band will swing into town next month when they play a concert at Belper Community Theatre on Saturday, March 15 at 8pm.
Having performed to great acclaim in Belper last year, the Tony Farrell Big Band will bring a swathe of vibrant, swinging music to pay tribute to the great names of the big band world, past and present.
This exciting concert will showcase an extravaganza of some of the greatest music ever written from the diverse library of the big bands.
Throughout the evening, the band feature the classic, laidback swing from the likes of Count Basie, energetic and flamboyant numbers from the library of Les Brown, vivid grooves from more modern masters, and rich vocal numbers featured by Michael Buble, Frank Sinatra, Natalie Cole, Ella Fitzgerald and many more stars of the big band world from the past and present.
Whatever your big band tastes, the evening is certain to provide you with the perfect flavour to tickle your musical taste buds.
The concert - called Swings Into Town - at the venue on John O’Gaunts Way, Belper, gets under way at 8pm on Saturday, March 15.
The venue provides an intimate, friendly atmosphere and ample parking. Refreshments will be available, supplied by the 1st Alton Manor Scouts.
The concert is being held in support of the scout group.
