Barnum

Get your tickets nice and early for the touring revival of the hit musical Barnum, which can be seen at Nottingham’s Theatre Royal early next year.

Starring Brian Conley and Linzi Hateley, it is stopping off at the venue from February 3-14, 2015.

Brian Conley is one of the UK’s most versatile actors and performers. He most recently scored a huge success as Fagin in the national tour of Cameron Mackintosh’s production of Oliver!

Linzi Hateley is an award-winning actress who has starred on Broadway, in the West End, with the RSC and at the National Theatre. She was nominated for an Olivier Award for her performance as The Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

This production of Barnum opened at Chichester Festival Theatre’s acclaimed state-of-the-art Theatre in the Park in July last year, playing to almost 70,000 people.

The musical follows the irrepressible imagination and dreams of Phineas T Barnum, America’s Greatest Showman.

The story of his life and his marriage to Chairy reveals a couple who looked at the world from opposite sides of the spectrum, and also reveals that she was the practical one who made Barnum’s dreams come true.

The production follows the legendary showman’s life as he lit up the world with the colour, warmth and excitement of his imagination and finally teamed up with J A Bailey to create Barnum and Bailey’s Circus – the Greatest Show on Earth.

Tickets are £47.50-£22.50 plus concessions and are available on 0115 9895555 or at www.trch.co.uk

n Gecko will be presenting their latest production Gecko at Derby Theatre from April 2-5.

Following their highly acclaimed performance of Missing last year, Derby Theatre is delighted to announce that the multi award-winning physical dance theatre company Gecko, prior to a UK tour later this year, will return to the theatre with the premiere of their new piece, Institute.

When the time comes, will anyone really care? Set in a warped world of emotional compartmentalisation and treatment – where memories are filed, relationships scrutinised and patient becomes carer and vice versa – four people undergo a series of extraordinary physical ‘treatments’ as they struggle to prepare themselves for the outside world. But a Gecko world is never as it first appears...

Gecko has a reputation for generating unique new worlds, exquisite stage-craft and breath-taking choreography.

Tickets are £10.50-£23.50.
