The Larry Miller Band will kick off a bumper crop of bands performing in the post-Christmas week at The Flowerpot in Derby, on Friday, December 27.
With his energetic and eclectic style, Larry brings a new dimension of showmanship to his performances.
After picking up his brother’s guitar and writing his first song the very same day, he felt his future lay in rock music.
Very quickly, Larry found his own style, and has been constantly refining it. Having just released his new album Unfinished Business, Larry is optimistic about the future: “I am beginning to move away from pure Blues Rock into a heavier Rock style, and the new album reflects this move, it’s a really exciting album!”
On Saturday, December 28, Too Rex return with their tribute to Marc Bolan and T.Rex.
Formerly called The Electric Warriors, Too Rex are now firmly established as one of the UK’s finest and most respected T-Rex tribute bands.
Fronted by Bolan clone Bobby T, the band always include T.Rex’s Top 20 hits such as Metal Guru, Jeepster, Telegram Sam, Hot Love, Children of the Revolution, Ride a White Swan, Get it On, I Love to Boogie, New York City, The Groover, Solid Gold Easy Action, and 20th Century Boy, as well as some more obscure album tracks.
Another good night is in store when The Rollin’ Stoned bring their tribute to the music of The Rolling Stones to the venue on Sunday, December 29.
With a Rollin’ Stoned show, the costumes are shamelessly camp, gaudy and fab, the instruments genuinely vintage and the wit irreverent. What clearly comes across to audiences seeing the band at work is the passion they all have for the music of what is “The Greatest Rock’n’Roll Band” the world has seen.
A typical two hour show will see all the classic crowd pleasing hits, spiced with enough eclectic selections from the deeper recesses of Stones’ album archives to satisfy even the most demanding of buffs.
Last, but no means least, are tribute band Bon Giovi, who can be seen at The Flowerpot on Monday, December 30.
Bon Giovi perform all the greatest Bon Jovi hits such as Living On A Prayer, It’s My Life, Wanted Dead or Alive, as well as many others from every album ever produced in one amazing stage show which include all these hits and more, not too mention performing rare tracks that even Bon Jovi have’t performed for many years.
Doors open for all of these gigs at 8pm.
Admission is £12 for the Larry Miller Band, £10 for Too Rex, £10 for The Rollin’ Stoned, and £10 for Bon Giovi.
