Heanor Town overcame the disappointment of defeat at Albion Sports last week with victories over Thackley on Saturday and a cup drubbing of Parkgate on Tuesday.
Beating Thackley 4-3 gave everyone present a real feast of a game, both sides having produced some of their best football of the season.
The League Cup second round match at Parkgate on Tuesday then produced another entertaining, disciplined performance from Heanor.
Greg Simmons set the Lions on their way with his first goal for the club in the ninth minute, followed by a goal from Nathan Benger.
Dan Williams scored on 20 minutes then Benger showed his instinct in front of goal by netting a further three goals on 26, 35 and 39 minutes to give Heanor a 6-0 lead at half-time.
Goals from Nick Hall and Jared Holmes in the second-half gave Heanor a comprehensive 8-0 win to see them through to the third round.
The Lions have now registered 26 goals this month with a game still to play.
Benger has chipped in with eight goals and Kieran Debrouwer has scored five, along with goals coming from other players.
The fans know they are guaranteed entertainment and desire from the players every time they watch Heanor Town play.
Credit has to be given to the management in selecting a strong line-up for the Parkgate match.
The bench consisted of Adam Nicholls, Davis, Craig Buxton, Crossley and Lewis Buxton – three reserve team players looking to make the step up, with first choice keeper Nicholls looking to regain his fitness after a long layoff with injury.
The Lions will be looking for revenge against an organised Albion Sports side on Saturday, the Pudsey-based team inflicting a 3-2 defeat of Heanor last Wednesday (20th)
The club is still providing the deal of £5 to travel to any away game this season on the club’s coach.
Upcoming games to Tadcaster (4/12), Liversedge (17/12) and Lincoln Moorlands Railway (21/12) will all have travel provided and it is requested that anyone wishing to travel books their seat using the sheets provided in Heanor Town FC Social Club as soon as possible.
