The latest CHIPS Charity Cricket Day is to take place at Shipley Hall Cricket Club on Sunday, August 11.
The event will feature a charity six-a-side cricket tournament, featuring a dozen teams, and there are still a couple of vacancies for teams who want to get involved and play their part in raising funds for a good cause.
The charity day has been organised by by Shipley Hall player Kevin Farnsworth, on behalf of the company Praesepe PLC, where he works as an operations manager.
He explained: “As a company, we have been raising money for a long while for this very good cause and will I believe go over the £100,000 figure with this day.
“We get a specifically designed and fitted wheelchair for a youngster for every £6,000 so that’s 17 wheelchairs that we will be able to present this year.
“Last year we made £85,000 for the charity.”
Entry is £100 per team and the event gets under way at 10am.
In addition to the tournament, there will refreshments, prizes and fun for all the family.
All money raised goes towards the CHIPS charity, which purchases wheelchairs for children.
