RACELINE: Tip of the Day 27th September

Yesterday’s selection was badly hampered when looking set to come through and win. Let’s hope for better luck today.

Thursday 27th September

RED AVENGER

Newmarket 2.35 WIN

It’s the opening day of Newmarket’s excellent, freshly-revamped Cambridgeshire meeting and, thankfully, the track has been spared the heavy rain that has struck elsewhere. This is a competitive nursery but Ed Dunlop’s fast-improving US-bred colt is expected to make amends for just failing to get up at Doncaster last time when he gave the impression that he got going a bit too late under an over-confident ride. A 175,000 guineas purchase, he had previously looked a fine prospect when cosily beating a highly-regarded odds-on favourite from the Godolphin operation at Warwick. He has a hefty weight to overcome but he’s certain to relish the step-up to 1m.

WEDNESDAY: VALIANT GIRL 5th (9/2)

TUESDAY: HOOFALONG 4th

MONDAY: INTIBA WON (evens)

TIP OF THE DAY SUPPLIED BY SCOOP RACING (RICHARD SILVERWOOD)
