HEANOR Town first XI visited Burton CC for a cup quarter final and Ali Dixon again was the star as he carried his bat for the second time in the weekend with a magnificent 124 sharing a wonderful opening stand with Josh Brear of 201.
Brear made 76 of these and batted very well to remind again of the potential that.
Burton had earlier made a respectable 216 all out in the 42 over.
The Heanor bowlers tried hard and Grahame McDonough weighed in with another three wickets for 39 runs in his spell.
The reply saw the Heanor openers scoring briskly in all areas with some flowing shots and victory came up with three overs to spare by an emphatic nine wicket margin.
This sets up a semi final game at Belper Amateurs in two weeks time.
It was a remarkable weekend for Dixon and a very good one for Heanor too.
This Saturday Heanor are home to Allestree in league action.
