Aldercar Community Language College has triumphed in this Derbyshire School Games winning the U13 Boys Table Tennis section.

The winning team consisted of Ryan Allwood, Matthew Webster, Thomas Stone and Joel Needham, who are all in form 8CR.

To win the championship, the Aldercar team had to beat five other teams, which they did with style.

They managed to beat their first three opposition teams by eight games to nil, their fourth opposition team by six games to two and their fifth opposition team by five games to three.

“We all played really well and tried our best in every game, which is why we won,” said team member Matthew Webster.

“I think all the extra practice we’ve had at school playing made the difference as we always play together every break time and lunchtime down at PE,” added Thomas Stone

“I’m really happy we won and can’t wait to show my mates my medal in lessons,” concluded Joel Needham

“I’d like to say thanks to John Grace and Les Allwood for all the extra coaching they have given us to make us the players we are.”
