Heanor Running Club will be offering a special free induction month for potential new members during January.
Whether you are looking to begin running or you are already a seasoned runner, Heanor Running Club offers a friendly, structured, safe and enjoyable atmosphere where you will be able to train with like-minded individuals under UKA-qualified coaches.
Starting on Tuesday, January 8, and then every Tuesday night at 6.45pm throughout the month, interested runners can go along to Heanor Leisure Centre.
Once there, they can either join in with training or just meet the team and find out more about one of the most respected clubs in the county.
Formed in 1982, the club has gone from strength-to-strength since its first meeting of runners at the Market Hotel in Heanor 30 years ago and has achieved success in various individual and team events over the years.
As well as hosting the ever-popular Matthew Walker 10k, Jubilee 10k and other events throughout the year, Heanor Running Club also enjoys a healthy social scene.
In addition to participating in the various team events, club members enjoy an annual trip abroad and various social events are planned throughout the year.
The club has seen its membership grow steadily during the past ten years and, three years ago, it saw the reintroduction of a junior section of the club, a development that continues to go from strength-to-strength.
Heanor Running Club hopes that these January sessions will give runners the opportunity to see at first hand the enjoyable and sociable atmosphere prevalent in the club.
There will be no obligation to join, just an opportunity to meet the rest of the team.
