HOLBROOK brothers James and Reece Wilkinson have just completed the Amateur Motorcycle Association East Trent Group Motocross championship which ran over nine consecutive weekends from late August to the end of October.

Both James, 13, and Reece, 10, are members of the Robridding Motocross club and race in the Inter Junior class which caters for nine to 15 year-olds.

James took the group championship runner-up spot, narrowly missing out on the top step of the podium to Corby rider Scott Walker.

Reece snatched the top ten finish at the last round held at the Butts Quarry, Ashover, near Matlock with two eighth and a seventh placing.

James won all three races at the final round.

James said: “It’s been a brilliant season again, made extra special by Reece starting his racing career only back in August, and for me getting those first race wins at Louth, Wymeswold and Tilton.

“It was great to finish the season on a high by winning our home race. We both have to say a big thank you to everyone who has helped and put up with us, especially our father, Colin, who keeps us racing no matter what!

“We are both looking forward to next season already.”

James now moves up the Under-18s whilst Reece will look to go even better in 2012 in the inters.
