Motorcycle whizzkid Kyle Ryde will soon be on his way to the Estoril Circuit in Portugal for some serious testing with the Moto GP Redbull Rookie Team.
The 13-year-old, from Jacksdale, won his place in the team back in October, when he competed against 150 other riders from around the World for 14 vacancies in the team.
This season’s racing will take him and his family across Europe, competing at the highest level within the Moto GP scene.
A series of fundraising events have been organised to help Kyle’s parents Sean and Janine meet the cost of success.
The first of these is Kyle’s Race Night, taking place on March 5, at the Jacksdale Miners Welfare.
It all starts at 7pm and tickets are available from the welfare itself or by contacting Janine on 07811 145579. The pre-booked price of the tickets is £2.50 for adults and £1 for children, or you can get in on the door at £3 for adults and £1.50 for children.
The many prizes range from children’s toys to Forest and Rams memorabilia and match tickets.
Finally, there is a whole load of motorcycle racing memorabilia, ranging from signed and authenticated photographs from the Moto GP/World Superbikes races, to signed clothing from riders such as Bradley Smith.
All the proceeds go towards the making of a local future World Champion motorcycle racer.
