Fittingly, there was a sunny day for the final day of the South Derbyshire Ladies Bowls Season.

At Chaddesden, the winners of all three leagues met in the Champion of Champions competition.

In the Semi Final, Marehay beat Belper Meadows by 157-154 and in the final went on to beat Rolls-Royce by a score of 150-120, to round off what has been a successful season for them.

n South Normanton Athletic FC remain the only unbeaten side in the Central Midlands League South Division.

They extended their run with a 3-1 win at Allenton United.

This was achieved thanks to goals from Robert Fretwell, Tom Leighton and Ben Greenhalgh, Steve O’Connell pulling one back for Allenton.

Southwell City are now unbeaten for seven games as they pulled off a 3-2 win at Pinxton.

Anthony Brown, Marlon Waites and Stewart Gill secured the points, with Wayne Cooke and Jason Dawson replying for the home side.

In the Reserve Premier Division, Harworth Colliery’s 4-0 win over Pinxton came courtesy of Scott Hardman, Danny Siddall, James Pine and Lewis Francis.
