Aldercar and Langley Mill Boxing Club staged a show recently at Shipley Working Men’s Club.
The event was rescheduled from November and featured seven bouts, three of them featuring the club’s fighters in action.
On the bill from the host club were club skipper Jack Hutsby, Ethan Morledge and Josh Knighton.
Head coach and club matchmaker David Goulding said: “Jack Hutsby won on unanimous points decision, Ethan Morledge lost on a close points decision after three good rounds, and Josh Knighton lost in what was classed as TKO in the first round because he had his nose broken after about 30 seconds and the medical guys stopped it.
“There was a nice crowd in and there was a good standard of boxing throughout the night. Thanks to Cllr Mick Fowkes, chairman of Aldercar and Langley Mill Parish Council, for presenting the prizes on the night.”
Jack hutsby won the Aldercar and Langley mill Blub boxer of the night trophy. The trophy was donated by David Goulding.
Next up will be an event in May featuring a number of Amber Valley-based clubs.
David added: “It’s going to take place on May 3 and we are hoping the venue will be the Genesis Centre in Alfreton. Club taking part will be ourselves, Ripley School of Boxing, Denby-based Powergym and Alfreton ABC.
“All being well, it should be a really good night plenty of good bouts taking place.”
