Ian Duffin was the sole representative from Ripley Running Club at the recent Sheffield half marathon and turned in a good performance in this large event.
This was the last time the race will be held in the Don Valley Stadium before it is demolished and the event attracted over 6,000 competitors of all abilities.
Ian completed the race in 1 hr 22mins, 42 seconds, a PB by over five minutes, and good enough for a 93rd place finish.
Meanwhile, Ripley sent a team along to the very hilly but scenic 10k race the Lea Bunny, in the picturesque surroundings of Lea and Holloway.
Dean Taylor led the Ripley team home, finishing in a superb 2.37.58, just a few seconds behind the winner.
Luke Beresford was next for the Green and Gold, in sixth place (39.57).
Rich Hill and Dennis Holmes came in shortly after in 45.15 and 49.09, in 21st and 27th respectively.
Matt Nicholls and Lisa Walton completed the Ripley contingent, finishing in 50.32 and 64.02, good enough for 35th and 60th positions.
A total of 68 runners completed the race.
