THE Chatsworth International Horse Trials 2012 are expected to once again attract large crowds to the area when they return to the popular venue on May 11-13.

Incorporating the FEI Eventing World Cup, the three days of action will feature some great equestrian sport, combined with fun entertainment for all the family.

In this Olympic year, there is a great chance to come and see the world’s top riders close at hand in the only UK round of the FEI World Cup TM on the Saturday and Sunday.

Alongside the elegance of the dressage, there is also the excitement of the show jumping and cross country to enjoy, or you can see the stars of the future in the Dubarry Burghley Young Event Horse four and five year old classes on Friday.

Gates open at 8am on each of the three days.

On Friday, May 11, there’s the Dubarry Burghley Young Event Horse 4 year old qualifier from 9.30am and the 5 year old qualifier from 1.30pm.

Saturday, May 12, features dressage from 8.30am, show jumping from 9.30am and cross country from 10.30am.

On the Sunday, there’s more of the same, with some high-quality dressage, show jumping and cross country for you to enjoy.

As well as dressage, show jumping and cross country, there are many arena attractions.

On the Friday, see the stars of tomorrow in the Dubarry Burghley Young Event Horse qualifiers and on the Saturday and Sunday enjoy all the favourites.

These will include Pony Club mounted games; ferret acing; John Halsted and the Duchess of Devonshire’s own gundogs; dressage demonstrations, maypole dancing, face painting, the exciting simulator and children’s rides.

There will be over 100 quality trade stands and two craft marquees selling an amazing selection of country clothing, equestrian products, fashion accessories, delicious food and much, much more.
