Have your say

Carsington Sports and Leisure are asking the general public to help celebrate their 20th birthday by ‘Having a Go’ at sailing and windsurfing for the first time this Saturday (30 June).

The centre are enthusiastic participants in Sail for Gold, the nationwide London 2012 initiative from sailing’s national governing body, the RYA, celebrating Britain’s unmatched Olympic sailing heritage and inspiring more people to get out on the water more often in this Olympic year.

Whet your appetite for watersports by having a go at sailing and windsurfing plus kayaking while there is also the chance to try climbing, fly fishing and archery.

Adults and children can enjoy one-and-a-half hour sailing and windsurfing taster sessions under the guidance of Carsington Sports and Leisure’s team of experienced and RYA-qualified instructors.

There are three sailing and windsurfing sessions during the day (morning, lunchtime and afternoon) and each session costs just £15.

Booking is essential for these tasters as places are limited, get in quick to make sure you get the activity you want to do! Just bring a change of clothes, soft-soled shoes and waterproofs and the centre will supply everything else you need. Showers and changing facilities are provided if required.

Carsington Sports and Leisure is a recognised RYA Training Centre meaning it conforms to the highest standards of quality and safety in the world. From starting out in 1992 as a small activity centre offering windsurfing, paddle sports and cycle hire the centre has grown to a recognised teaching establishment with RYA status in windsurfing, sailing and powerboating, offering tuition, courses, instructor training and equipment hire to individuals and groups of all ages.
