Coaches share £9,265 bursary

A TOTAL of 74 coaches have been offered a share of £9,265 to help them gain new skills and qualifications, thanks to the Derbyshire Sport Coach Bursary Fund.

Among those receiving a bursary are coaches from Amber Valley, Bolsover, Chesterfield, Derby City, Derbyshire Dales, Erewash, High Peak, North East Derbyshire and South Derbyshire.

Coaches receiving a bursary will be training to work in a diverse range of sports including athletics, badminton, boxing, cricket, cycling, football, golf, gymnastics, hockey, netball, rugby union, swimming, table tennis, tennis, trampolining and triathlon.

Thanks to the funding, 38 recipients will work towards assistant coaching qualifications (Level 1), 22 will undertake Level 2 qualifications, three will undertake a Level 3 qualification and 11 will receive other coach education funding support.
