It’s been a week of challenging, windy conditions at Carsington Fishery in which 34 anglers caught 60 fish, giving a rod average of 1.76.
While the rod average was lower than last week’s of 2.9, the weather had a significant impact on the overall period.
It is worth noting that, on Friday September 14, the average was 4.5 with 27 fish caught by two of the venue’s anglers.
The heaviest rainbow was 4lb 2oz caught by Mr T Smith.
The tops spots this week have been again in deeper water areas on the eastern side of the reservoir moving from South to North, especially around the entrance the Fishtail creek.
Hall Wood, Stitch Plantation and Upperfields Bay.
Morning and early afternoon catches have generally been on slow sinking lines. Later in the day intermediate lines have worked well in the right conditions.
