The final week of angling at Carsington Fishery saw yet another increase in the rod average.
The rod average was 6.12 with 227 fish caught by 37 anglers.
The heaviest rainbow this week was over 4lb 8oz, caught Mr J Matthews and the heaviest brown was 2lbs 6oz and caught once again by Mr P Harding.
The top spots have been Tower Bank, Brown Ale Bay and by Half Moon Field, and Shiningford Bay.
Slow sinking lines are generally working the best with many fish being caught in deeper water away from the banks. The flies are still mainly the usual popular lures for this point in the season – Cats Whisker, Hot Head Damsels, Montanna, orange blobs, Olive Zonker and Black & Green lures.
The fishery opens for the 2013 season on Saturday, March 16. Bookings are already being taken for the first weekend and there are already many group booking for competitions in the diary.
Don’t forget, if you booked five or more boats then you will be entitled to 15 per cent off the full boat price.
Bookings taken by telephone on 01629 540478 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
