Anglers brave the conditions

There was another tough week with cold windy conditions at Carsington Fishery but many anglers have caught large numbers of fish with catch returns recording double figures.

The rod average for this second week of the season was 4.80 with 246 fish caught by 48 anglers.

The heaviest rainbow this week was 3lbs 8oz caught on a viva near the island by Mr R Crompton.

The heaviest brown was 2lbs 4oz, caught on a cats whisker near Tower bank by Mr P Allison.

The most successful areas have been at Shiningford creek, Watersports island, Sheepwash and some caught in the middle of the reservoir.

The most successful patterns are black & orange montana, orange fritz, green Montana, cats whisker and orange booby. Most fish have been caught on intermediate and sinking lines.
