Amber Valley Bees hockey team played crushed Findern 7-1

The Bees, lacking recent match practice, started slowly and gave their opponents early chances. However, sweeper Kate Vincent held firm in the centre of defence.

Bees found their passing game midway through the first half and Ellesha Garner struck a superb strike into the back of the net to make it 1-0.

The second goal came soon after via Helen Charlton, striking home from just inside the D.

Despite the two goal lead, the Bees gave away a series of short corners to Findern, testing Bees keeper Jade Lawman who made a sensational diving save and Amanda Lanyon deflecting a second shot off the line to keep the Bees 2-0 to the good at half-time.

Bees, altering their formation at half-time, scored three quick goals to make it 5-0. The goals came via Ellesha Garner and a deflected own-goal.

Findern pulled a goal back for 5-1, but the Bees continued their hunt for goals, with two more coming before the end.

Carla Fox grabbed a goal from an attacking short corner and Ellesha Garner achieved her personal hat-trick just prior to the final whistle.
