Excellent batting from youngsters Lewis Pinder and Alex Bacon helped the Langley Mill Sunday side to a comfortable 111 run victory against Mansfield & Pleasley at Station Road. Pinder top scored with 85 while Bacon hit 82, and then followed up with three wickets for only seven runs.
Langley Mill batted first on a blustery day and totalled 261 for 5 in their 40 overs. As well as the contributions from Pinder and Bacon, Jay Holmes hit 26 and Andrew Bailey 18.
In reply, the visitors started badly, slumping to 39 for 5, but good knocks of 50 from Adrian Spray and 32 from Andrew Smith took them to a respectable 150 all out in 32.3 overs.
For Langley Mill, Bacon was the clear pick, and Ben Scott took 2 for 38.
This win keeps the Millers at the top of Division 4, 12 points ahead of Anston in second spot.
