Langley Mill made a first ever visit to the quirky Frecheville Community ground for a Mansfield League Section 4 game and recorded another victory which took them within 17 points of the title, and a mere 8 points away from a third successive promotion.

Frecheville won the toss and elected to bat and scored a total of 172 for 6 from their 40 overs. With small boundaries, this was a below par total. Top scorer was Louis Fairest-Brown with an unbeaten 66 and skipper Danny Kempton contributed 34.

For Langley Mill, skipper Andrew Bailey recorded figures of 4 for 27 and Jay Holmes, 2 for 25.

The Millers started shakily in their reply losing Neil Wing, caught behind for a duck, Oliver Blake, bowled for a single and David Brunelleschi, run out for four, with only 23 on the board.

On 50, Holmes was bowled for 18 but Ben Scott hit an excellent 34 before he was bowled with the score on 76. Two runs later, Rich Krupiak went for 10, but Jack Scott blasted a quickfire 36 to take the Millers within sight of victory.

Despite losing Grant Ball for 10, Andy Sibley took the Millers home with an unbeaten 41 while Alex Bacon remained unbeaten at the other end on 5.
