Langley Mill CC 1sts travelled to South Wingfield hoping to banish the memories of an early season defeat in which they where in the driving seat but threw it away.
It didn’t get much better this time and South Wingfield completed a double.
The Millers could only muster 159 all out in the 38th over, way below par on a small ground but more importantly giving eight overs to the opposition.
As with previous weeks, batsmen got themselves in but again got themselves out and at drinks on 23 overs the Millers were up with a good run rate of four an over but this was with the loss of five wickets.
Daniel Hanson (37) was the only batsman to score above 30.
The Millers needed to get off to a good start and did just that reducing Wingfield to 4-2. This brought Chris Dunn to the crease and he scored freely. He didn’t look in any danger until the introduction of Hanson. He immediately struck and Wingfield were 82-5.
Borland and Jones took Wingfield to victory by three wickets.
Wharton with 3-49 was pick of the Millers bowling.
Next week sees the Millers with a week off to reflect on what they can achieve during the last four games of the season.
