Marehay remain without a win in the Derbyshire Premier League after they couldn’t break down Lullington Park on Saturday.
Batting first, Marehay were all out for 221, but could only remove seven of Lullington Park’s wickets before time was up and had to make do with a winning draw.
Marehay’s innings struggled initially and they were 31-3 early on, but the middle order kicked on well with Daniel Palmer (38), Rob Peat (43), James Kyte (47) and Ben Perry-Taylor (46) producing useful knocks to help their side to their final total.
Remarkably, three of Marehay’s wickets came as a result of stumpings by wicket keeper Richard Green, all off the bowling of Paul Dawson.
In reply, Lullington Park were similarly at 31-3 but they too found stability from that point on, Martin Walters’ 52 key as they eventually closed on 161-7.
Peat and Ben Gartside took two wickets each, Matthew White, Perry-Taylor and a run out accounting for the others.
