Ripley turned up to a misty Matlock still unbeaten this season, but so were Matlock.

Ripley started the game brightest but Matlock were a well-organised team and hard to break down. Matlock took the lead and, for the first time this season, Ripley were on the back foot with Matlock first to most balls.

Matlock were overrunning Ripley and made it 2-0 with more excellent build-up play. At half-time, Ripley made one change and started off the brighter out the two teams but the final touch seemed lacking after brilliant build-up play.

Matlock made it 3-0 and Ripley just could not break the stubborn resistance. With Ripley attacking to get something out the game, it was Matlock who again scored. Ripley finally got a goal courtesy of Kyle Hazeldine breaking through the defence and slotting home. Ripley kept trying but well-organised Matlock kept them at bay.

Matt would like to thank the excellent turnout and all the help from the parents.

The next game is on Sunday, October 14, away at Matlock Eagles.
