Last weekend saw Clay Cross Town on the road again, this time to Edlington and the opposition Yorkshire Main.

The visitors took a 37th-minute lead through Jordan Smith and Clay Cross only rescued themselves with three goals in an exciting last six minutes that saw the points coming back to Mill Lane.

The first came on 86 minutes from Ryan Williams, who cut in off the left to fire home.

Then a minute later, Rockie White scored with a 25-yard drive and in the second minute of stoppage time. It was White again with a tap-in from a Ryan Williams cross.

Town’s determination saw them through and these three points kept them in second place in the Central Midlands Football League North Division.

This Saturday, after four weeks of away games, Clay Cross return to Mill Lane with a home game versus Thorne Colliery, with a 3pm kick off.
