Rob Coles inspired lowly Athletico Kebab to a superb and well deserved 5-3 victory over Waingroves in the Selston five-a-side league last week.

With just two points on the board before this fixture Athletico looked to falling away from the pack of teams, including Waingroves, above them in the table.

This win however, means that there are just three points separating five teams with plenty still to play for.

Elsewhere Russ Norman’s shot stopping saw Eastley Harriers close the gap on leaders The White Lion after Harriers defeated their rivals 7-4 and reduce White Lions lead to just two points as we reach the half-way point in the season.

In the other game of the evening, third-placed met forth place with Inbertweeners looking to make ground on Nott’s FC who they currently trail in the table.

In a close encounter goalkeeper Jason Bingham secured the points for Inbertweeners with a string of fine stops to deny his opponents and move his side to within two points of Nott’s in third.
