Heanor Town FC are looking to bounce back from a disappointing defeat at Tadcaster Albion last weekend when they host local rivals Basford United in the ToolStation Northern Counties East League this Saturday.
It is expected to be a close encounter with Basford taking 13 points from their last six games and Heanor 12 points from the same number of games.
Players will be looking to make an impression after the display at Tadcaster opened the door for potential changes in the starting 11.
The reserve team were looking to claim a Derbyshire County FA South Cup semi-final place in their tricky quarter-final encounter with Melbourne Dynamo on Wednesday night.
Melbourne currently are unbeaten in the Midland Regional Alliance with eight wins and three draws from their 11 games.
This is by no means an easy task for our reserve team but with the forward line being led by in form Alex Marshall everyone at Heanor hopes the reserve team can safely see their way into their first quarter final of a cup for many years.
The under 19s squad travelled to Mickleover Sports FC last Thursday. Taking the game to their hosts, The Lions found themselves 4-2 up on 75 minutes.
However, 15 minutes of madness gave Mickleover three chances to score and as it has been the under 19s luck this season that they managed to take all three chances.
This result shows progression for the squad that hadn’t played together only six months ago, showing they are learning their roles and also their own capabilities on a football pitch.
The club wants to remind fans that there is a bus planned for the Northern Counties East League game at Lincoln Moorlands on December 21.
The bus will leave at 12.30pm and fans are encouraged to take the offer of £5 a seat to join the players and staff for the last away match before Christmas. Just put your name on the sheet in the social club and pay your £5 to the bar staff at the time of booking.
n On Tuesday night, the Lions beat hosts Alfreton Town 1-0 in the Derbyshire Senior Cup.
