It’s just not cricket!

THE prospect of much local cricket going ahead over the weekend looks pretty grim thanks to the persistent rains which have fallen throughout the week.

Ambergate Cricket Club’s bid to protect their wicket with covers unfortunately failed when the covers themselves were submerged under the rising waters.

Langley Mill United CC’s Station Road ground also has small lakes of water on the outfield and Saturday’s home game against Sandiacre Town CC seconds has already been cancelled.
