A charity game staged by Ripley-based Amber Valley Hornets Ladies Hockey Club has raised almost £250 on the day for Endometriosis UK.
Friends and family of the club’s members were in attendance for the event at Mill Hill School in Ripley.
This is the club’s home ground and the pitch was kindly provided free of charge.
Three teams took part and despite the wind, rain and hail, played some great hockey.
The club wishes to thanks the school for their generous support, players and family members who played on the day, friends and family cheering on the sidelines, and teams sponsors Crosshill Garage (Waingroves), and Van Elle (Pinxton).
Endometriosis is a chronic and debilitating disease affecting 1.5 million women in the UK in which small pieces of the womb lining are found outside the womb. It is a condition that two members of the club have suffered from and so the Hornets felt it was a worthwhile charity to raise funds for.
