Heanor Town bounce back to winning form

After the horror show of the previous weekend, Heanor Town first XI bounced back with a great win at home to Pilsley.

Pilsley were askedto bat on a green-tinged but good looking track and the opening pair made a ropey start. J Warsop being bowled by Kevin Barber for four and Saeed Bin Nasir, after being dropped, scoring slowly in the first five overs.

Steady batting combined with the loss of two more wickets took the score to 90-3 after 20 overs. A Beeson (34) and Saeed Bin Nasir built a 99-run partnership to take the score to 188-4 in the 40th over and with six overs left, a score of 250 was still a possibility.

Adrian Mann bowled a tight spell finishing with 3-42 off 8 overs and Kevin Barber finishing with 4-47 off 12 overs. Pilsley’s Innings ended on 214-8 off 46 overs,Bin Nasir making 130.

In reply, Trevor Hessey and Josh Brear got Heanor off to the perfect start with an opening partnership of 101 before Trevor Hessey was out for 48.

Corrie Keable fell for 7 after which a partnership of 71 between father and son took the score to 187-3 with Andy Brear out for 54 and six overs left to score 28 runs to win. Kevin Barber (6) and Adam Harchuk (4no) pushed the score to 207 with eight balls remaining.

A four and a six off the next two balls from John Brear sealed the match for Heanor.
