Good results in three races

RIPLEY Running Club members saw action in the Broxtowe 5km run last Friday

The race was around the lovely bramcote park on grass and gravel pathways.

Over 200 runners took part with Matt Bickerstaff from Ripley recording an amazing time of 17 minutes 47 seconds and third place overall.

The Caythorpe Canter 26-mile race on the Saturday was a challenge on minor roads, tracks, bridle paths, fields and footpaths across rural Lincolnshire.

Two Ripley runners did this race Wayne Yearwood and Eleanor Robinson, Wayne was back in 4 hours 15 minutes while Eleanor was back in 4 hours 40 minutes, a great achievement from both runners!

The popular Brighton marathon on Sunday saw well over 12,000 runners competing.

started in the beautiful Preston Park and then took in the best of the city centre, past the Brighton Pavilion and stretches of coastal road to the glorious South Downs.

Two Ripley runners had been training for a number of months for this 26.2-mile race, Ryan Smith and Rachel Birks!

Ryan was first back in 4 hours 28 mins and a personal best too and Rachel was back in 5 hours 22 minutes. All that hard work paid off guys well done!

Ripley Running club meet every tuesday evening at 6.45pm at the Leisure centre, runners of all abilities are most welcome.
