Online entries are now open for the Erewash Jog Derbyshire 5k, taking place on Saturday, May 10.
The run, organised by Erewash Borough Council in partnership with Jog Derbyshire, is held in the scenic West Park in Long Eaton. There are only 200 places and the popular run has sold out quickly in recent years so book soon.
Jog Derbyshire co-ordinator Michelle Simmons said: “The flat, even parkland course makes it a great choice for beginner joggers looking to do their first 5k or for more experienced runners to aim for a personal best.”
“This sort of event is what Jog Derbyshire is all about - a chance to run in a friendly, non-competitive environment and benefit from the support and encouragement of other joggers.”
Ian Tinto, sport and development manager at Erewash Borough Council, said: “The run will be chip timed and prizes for the fastest male, fastest female, but don’t worry if speed isn’t your target. Everyone receives a finishers’ medal and you’ll get a great sense of accomplishment from doing this laid back event.”
The entry cost is £5 for 5k (the one-mile fun run is free)
Entries are open to anyone over 14, although all under 16s must be accompanied by a running adult.
