Codnor Boys F.C./GFC Codnor have been successful in securing additional support from local Amber Valley McDonald’s franchisee Ken Hair.

A package including a set of portable goals, training bibs and footballs have been provided to help the club with their plans to encourage girls to take up football and join the club.

Philip Moss, club chairman, has already introduced 20 girls of varying ages to regular coaching sessions on a Tuesday evening, with an aim to have a girls’ team in place by the start of the 2014/2015 season.

He stated: “As a Charter Standard Community Club, our girls section is a very important part of our club’s development and we are extremely grateful for the support we have received from Ken Hair and McDonald’s, along with our new facility and continued growth these are exciting times for our club”.
