Butterley United CC 1sts came within a whisker of beating Ockbrook and Borrowash 4ths on Saturday in Division 8N of the Derbyshire County Cricket League.
Butterley lost the toss andwere asked to bat first.
They compiled a decent 225 all out from 41.1 overs.
The main contributions came from Robert Swift with 59 at the top of the order, plus Nathan Parkin’s 49, including six fours and two sixes.
There was also an attacking knock of 33 lower down the order from Steve Parkin, which saw him hit two fours and three sixes.
For Ockbrook and Borrowash, Jack Stanley took 5-56.
Ockbrook and Borrowash then made a decent start to their reply.
But they suffered a middle order collapse and from that point on, they were always struggling.
In the end, they ended their 45 overs on 136-9, just hanging on to claim a draw.
For Butterley, Chris Barber bowled an excellent spell of 5-26 from 11 overs, and he was well backed up by the efforts of Nathan Parkin (1-28), Harry Gee (1-26) and Callum West (2-41).
