Heanor Town’s squad for the 2014-2015 is already taking shape with the addition of five more new players at the Town Ground.
Following on from the signing from Ilkeston FC of veteran striker Gary Ricketts, Heanor manager Glen Clarence has also brought in goalkeeper Ian Deakin from Mansfield Town, midfielder Sam Jones from Retford, once of Leeds United, midfielder Josh Greenhalgh, whose previous clubs include Garforth Town, winger Paolo Piliero from Gresley FC and a familiar face in Adrian Hawes, the centre half who has had a previous spell at the Town Ground as youngster.
Since then he has played for the likes of Hucknall, Eastwood Town, Alfreton Town and Grantham Town.
Glen Clarence pronounced himself pleased with all the signings and said of the returning Hawes: “I’m delighted to have Ady on board, he’s exactly what we’ve been after and it’s great to see that our hard work is paying off. Ady has a brilliant football cv and can only make us stronger going into the new campaign’’
Meanwhile, Kieran Debrouwer, who swept the board at the recent club awards night, has decided to stay with The Lions for the next two seasons, despite obvious interest from numerous clubs locally and higher up the pyramid. He hit 56 goals last season.
