Only two Dick Windle Cup games were concluded as the weather again played havoc with the fixture list.

LEABROOKS CORNER posted the biggest score of the day in coming away from ALLIANCE HEALTHCARE with a 9-3 win.

Chris Pinner, Adam Coleman and Shane Buckerfield each scored twice with Mike Dables, Drew Moseley and a Jack Wilkinson own goal making up their number. Danny Harris, Chris Burrows and Aaron Benford were on the mark for the home team who finished well beaten.

Adam Nicholls slotted home to give CRIB BAR an early advantage over RAINBOW INTERNATIONAL, but his goal was the only one in the first period.

A curler from the edge of the box by Andy Calladine doubled the advantage shortly after the resumption, and the hard working Kyle Wadsworth made it 3-0 with a simple tap-in.

Super sub Liam Brown closed out the game with two late strikes to ease his side’s passage into the next round.

Before then, though, Crib have a mouth-watering DCFA Sunday Senior Cup encounter to look forward to when they come up against former winners of the competition BOLSOVER WHITE SWAN in the semi-final that takes place next Sunday, kick-off at 1.30 at the home of South Normanton Athletic.

The only game in Division One saw the improving RAILWAY (Alfreton) record a 6-4 win over bottom side FC WELFARE.

A deflected effort from Kieran Debrouwer saw the visitors ahead after 17 minutes. A deft flick from Steve Forbes was instrumental in setting up Ben Bacon for number two; then David Krupiak sliced the ball spectacularly into his own net.

Forbes added a fourth just before the interval as Railway were in cruise control. Keeper Nathan Bettison gave the home team some hope when he gifted Ross Knightley a goal on the restart, and sub Gary Slater pulled back another.

A finger tip save on to the crossbar by defender Dan Evans from Krupiak’s drive went unseen by the referee, but in the very next attack Matthew Brammall struck to bring Welfare within range. Substitute Connel Brogan restored the visitors’ two goal advantage but Brammall struck again to put a dent in their opponents’ somewhat arrogant approach.

It was left to Evans – who was fortunate to have still been on the pitch – to complete the scoring within a minute.

BULLS HEAD beat MARLPOOL UTD 5-2 in the second division; this after the visitors had gone ahead through Leon Ravenscroft. Simon Else also netted but goals by Matt McGinness,

Eric Woodall, Nick West, Micky Stevenson and Craig Chaplin were enough to give Bulls the points.

DEVONSHIRE ARMS were denied a couple of shouts for a penalty kick before having one awarded against them that was converted by visitors SOUTH NORMANTON BLUEBELL on the way to a comprehensive 9-0 win.

OUT OF TOWN meanwhile had Tom Colledge and Dan Cummings to thank for the goals that led to them beating GALLOWS INN 2-0 on their opponents’ ground.

Robert Spencer was outstanding in the middle of the park.
