RIPLEY Town manager Paul MacFarland has moved to bolster his squad ahead of a hectic run-in to the season.
MacFarland has been boost by the news that former Eastwood Town player Richard King has opted to return to the Brickworks after a short spell at Supreme Division outfit North Notts.
Also joining the Ripley club is striker Mark Whitton who arrives from neighbours Heanor Town where he has first team experience.
The double signings will be more than welcome as Towns fixture list problems have been further aggravated by the postponement of their last two cup games.
Last Saturdays League Cup third round replay at home against South Normanton Athletic fell to a frozen pitch, a verdict also surprisingly delivered by Belper Town for Tuesday evenings Derbyshire Senior Cup tie.
Ripley also still have 21 league games to be fulfilled and it is going to be a busy next few four months as they chase their promotion dream.
The Derbyshire Senior Cup tie with Belper Town at Christchurch Meadow is now scheduled for next Tuesday (Jan 15th, 7.45pm).
Ripley Town Reserves are without a game this weekend.
