Just one second separates Ripley pair at Wollaton

RIPLEY Running Club had two members take part in the recent Notts Easter 10k, at Wollaton Park on Easter Sunday.

Anthony Davis and Wayne Yearwood lined up with 366 other athletes.

Anthony finished 104th, a split second in front of club rival Wayne in 105th.

They finished in a time of 46 minutes and 46 minues and one second respectively.

Meanwhile, Claire Duffin took part in her first triathlon after a break due to injury.

The Southwell Sprint Triatlon consisted of a 400-metre swim, 17.6km cycle ride and then a 5k run to finish.

Claire did the swim in 9.57, 41.51 on the bike and 25.07 in the run to give her a final finishing time of 1.20.26 and 484th place out of 583 competitors.

This was an excellent result for her.

Antoinette Franco took part in the Lichfield Half Marathon recently and set herself a fantastic new personal best time of 2 hours 15 minutes and 34 seconds, finishing in 851st place out of 1079 runners, another brilliant result for both Antoinette and the club.

Ripley Running Club meet every Tuesday at 6.45pm in Ripley Leisure Centre. New members are always welcome to attend.
