Stainsby Hall 1sts were able to hold on for a draw against Clifton in Division One of the Derbyshire County Cricket League on Saturday.
Clifton won the toss, batted first and took 192-5 from 50 overs.
James Barnes top-scored with 76 and Robert Wood took two wickets for Stainsby Hall.
In reply, Stainsby’s Billy Holmes was the top scorer with 33 at the top of the innings but while a number of others got themselves set, no-one else was able to go higher than the 20 not out contributed by Mark Greaves.
It was he and Richard Gregson (15 not out) who proved to be the Stainsby heroes, their unbeaten last wicket stand of 45 denying Clifton victory.
Stainsby Hall eventually finished the match on 156-9 to earn a draw from the game.
