ALFRETON Town have released four players from last season’s title-winning squad.
Central defenders Darren Stride and Paul Lister and midfield players Chris Hall and Ian Ross have all been thanked for their services at the Impact Arena as manager Nicky Law begins planning for life in the Blue Square Bet Premier Division in earnest.
Also departing from last season’s successful squad are striker Daryl Clare and Aden Flint whose loan spells ended at the conclusion of the campaign and they have returned to their parent clubs Cambridge United and Swindon Town respectively.
With Alfreton building towards their ultimate aim of a totally full-time squad over the next three years though, Law still has the vast majority of last season’s squad which is a terrific platform to build on.
And with the club looking to stabilise themselves at the next level, the next stage is well under way with the club deep in negotiations with the retained players with a view to extending current contracts to beyond the 2011/12 season.
It is understood Ian Ross has agreed to join Blue Square Bet North side Harrogate Town.
Supporters are reminded that season tickets are now also available by calling in at the Impact Arena between 10am and 4.30pm from Monday to Friday.
There will be a later office time closing time of 6pm on a Thursday and fans can also call in between 10am and noon on Saturday mornings.
Tickets ordered at the ground can be paid for by cash if preferred.
The season ticket discount deadline is June 30 and telephone applications can be made to 01159 392090.
The Reds are still seeking additional applications from persons interested in a variety of positions which need filling prior to the 2011/12 season.
These include directorships, match day secretary, stewards, commercial assistants, turnstile operators, programme sellers, raffle operators, lottery agents and a match day tannoy operator.
Anyone wishing to be considered for any post, director or otherwise can contact the club in the first instance on 01159 392090 extension 107
