Amber Valley RUFC 1sts will hope to return to action, weather permitting, on Saturday, looking to strengthen their promotion challenge.
Valley their first 11 games in the period between the start of the season and the Christmas break, leaving them top of the table in Midlands Four East (North).
Since the turn of the year, they have played four games.
They suffered their first loss of the season in their 12th league game, going down 17-12 to Bingham, losing top spot to Chesterfield Panthers in the process.
They then bounced back the following week, leaving it late to win a nailbiter against local rivals Belper 27-26.
They followed this up with a 12-0 win at Bingham before a barnstorming first against second match in very conditions ended in a 7-7 draw against Chesterfield Panthers.
All of this means that Valley go into Saturday’s match at Cleethorpes in second place, just one point behind leaders Chesterfield Panthers, with 15 games of the season played.
Third-placed Tupton are a further 14 points behind Amber Valley.
