Alfreton Town Under 11s have enjoyed a double triunph after winning the Youth Elizabethan League u11s winter leagues for both Saturdays and Sundays.
The victories are a repeat of their achievements last year at the under tens level.
Over the course of 19 games played (ten on Saturdays, nine on Sundays) their combined statistics are 18 wins and one draw. During that unbeaten run to the titles, they scored a whopping 108 goals and only conceded 14. The leagues run from September to December and the titles were won with 13 lads, 12 of whom play on both days.
The team is managed by Gareth Clarke. Toby Abbott, a coach of the team, said: “They’re a really good bunch of lads and they are starting to catch the attention now as one has gone to Chesterfield’s academy and one to Forest. Without wishing to blow our own trumpet, they’ve been together since under sevens level and they have always had success.
“The biggest win of the season was 17-0 in the cup and as you can see by the goal difference, we had some comprehensive wins in the league too. Congratulations to the lads.”
The Sunday sponsor is Cheshire-based Bip and Gareth and Toby are pictured with the newly sponsored Sunday kit.
