Tipton hat-trick inspires Ambergate

MRA Division Two

Ambergate FC 4

Roe Farm 0

A HAT-TRICK by Craig Tipton inspired Ambergate to a comfortable home 4-0 win over bottom-of-the-table Roe Farm.

Gate started brightly and the first goal came in quite bizarre fashion as a giant Hodgson goal kick was headed back by a Roe Farm defender onto Tipton and into the net!

A second soon followed as Tipton was brought down in the area, and it was he himself who stepped up to neatly slot home for 2-0.

Ambergate were in dominant mood and it was only a matter of time until the third goal came and it did, again Tipton scoring, and this time there was no luck involved as he smashed home a 35-yard free kick!

With the game already out of Roe Farm’s reach, the second half was something of a stale affair.

The fourth and final goal was a rare left-footed beauty from Mark Randall after Farm had failed to clear a corner.

Hodgson was rarely tested in the ‘gate goal and Ambergate smoothly saw the game out to pick up the three points which keeps them firmly in touch with the top teams in the division.

This Saturday Ambergate are away at Rowsley Reserves in Junior Cup third round action. Kick-off is 2.30pm.
